The Paris Agreement is an international agreement in which 197 countries acknowledge the need for collective action to address the climate crisis. It aims to limit the global average surface temperature increase to 2 degrees Celsius and, if possible, keep it below 1.5 degrees Celsius to avert a climate crisis. Turkey signed the agreement on April 22, 2016, and ratified it in the Turkish Grand National Assembly on October 7, 2021.
